11/27/2023 0 Comments Insurgency sandstorm player countIn arcade style shooters such as CoD or Splitgate it's not so bad - although having to implement heavy AA dampens the gunplay IMO and it's a great shame that this is where the industry is now heading, but that's my opinion on a slightly different topic. In a slower paced, tactical shooter with an extremely low TTK, mouse users' advantage will be amplified IMO. Any long range gun fight where both players are in cover, the mouse user simply has to click on a few pixels and assuming their sensitivity is set right, that'll be easy.ĪA only really works when player models are exposed, as opposed to leaning behind walls or holding sightlines from cover. I posted that comment based on the type of game that Insurgency is. ![]() Seriously, nothing on console compared for years. I'd always play HC custom lobbies with aim assist turned off. Since I couldn't swap games very well, I stuck with the ones that didn't make me sick. Long story short: I switched to PC and my immersion is back and I'm LOVING gaming again.īack on console, for years my favorite game was BF4. Without the familiarity and expectation of where I'm going to be looking when I stop pressing the stick, it was basically making me motion sick. After months on PC and really analyzing all of the factors, I can only assume that the games taking control away from me was altering my expectation of where I should be aiming and whatnot. I couldn't play for more than an hour before my head was splitting. More and more as time went on, it became increasingly difficult to swap games. (I'm still within the first six months of playing on PC.) lol So it's a challenge looking at it that way, but it's still horribly unbalanced when I can pick up a standard controller, after not using one, and go twenty five and four while laying on the sofa.Īim assist systems like aim acceleration were the reason I was slowly becoming ill playing games. I aim to outperform controller users in that game one day. Splitgate does basically play itself with a controller. Hell, most Doom Eternal players on console are doing deathless runs on the highest difficulty with aim assist disabled since it is poorly suited for such a game.Įven passionate console shooter players don't seem to care about this so much. The ability to disable aim acceleration or better yet games not implementing it, helped too. Being able to customise aim curves and such. We've come a long way since Halo in 2001. Splitgate is a cool looking game but I won't bother with it seeing as it gives everyone god aim. I was really hoping that Rainbow Six Siege would set the trend of devs removing aim assist but as you've pointed out, the opposite is happening. PUBG's aim assist is so mild people don't believe it has any, including myself for months. It's also the main reason why I play PUBG over Warzone. ![]() Whilst I thought it was a little clunky as a game I really enjoyed Killzone Shadowfall's multiplayer for it's lack of aim assist.
